How to find a missing module on BlackBoard

If a module is missing from your Blackboard course, here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially find it:

✅ 1. Check the Course Menu

  • Sometimes modules are hidden under folders or labeled differently.
  • Click through all folders, especially ones like:
    • “Course Content”
    • “Modules”
    • “Week [X]”
    • “Learning Units”

✅ 2. Look for Availability Dates

  • Instructors can set release dates.
  • If a module is scheduled for a future date, you won’t see it until then.

✅ 3. Check Announcements or Messages

  • Your instructor may have posted information about:
    • Module delays
    • Prerequisites for unlocking the content
    • Alternate access methods

✅ 4. Use the “Tools” Area

  • Go to “Tools” in the left-hand menu, then look for:
    • Content Collection
    • Course Calendar
    • Grades (sometimes modules appear when assignments are due)

✅ 5. Ask Your Instructor

  • If you still don’t see it, contact your instructor directly:
    • Ask if the module is published
    • Confirm whether it’s available to your section

✅ 6. Try a Different Browser or Device

  • Occasionally, Blackboard has display issues.
  • Try:
    • Logging in from a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox)
    • Clearing your cache
    • Using the Blackboard mobile app
