The First Year Experience Portal

The purpose of the Facilitation pivot is to provide academic support to both undergraduate and postgraduate students the objective of the FYE Portal is to improve throughput and graduate rates through development initiatives maximising on online / F2F student learning. 

We Target High risk modules and offer weekly sessions, consultations and workshops, you can book your consultation and facilitator via the FYE Portal in addition the portal is set up to assist students on online problem solving through various online tools available.

Teaching & Learning Centre Programmes

56 SIL Facilitators

The SIL program offers voluntary, peer-led support sessions in high-attrition subjects, enhancing understanding, promoting collaboration, and improving student success through engagement and guidance from trained SI leaders.

20 TeL Facilitators

The Technology-enhanced Learning (TeL) Student Assistant Programme established to address the evolving needs of higher education. The TeL Programme aims to integrate technology into teaching and learning processes, enhancing the educational experience for students.

23 LWAP Facilitators

The Language and Writing Advancement Programme (LWAP) at the University of Fort Hare enhances students' academic writing skills through peer-led workshops and consultations, fostering proficiency in discipline-specific academic literacy.

25 REZ Buddy Facilitators

Rez Buddies offer academic support in residences, promoting self-sustained learning & collaboration. Extending academic development beyond classrooms, creating supportive learning environments within students living.
